Welcome to this Daman Markets tutorial on how to navigate the MT5 platform. So, once you’ve successfully logged in, the MT5 platform is split up into 4 main parts. You have your Market Watch, Navigator, Toolbox, and your Charting Area.

So to begin with, the Market Watch, this will list the instruments that you’re capable of trading that Daman Markets offers. If you can see this list here, it’s only got afew instruments available at the moment. If you want to add some more, what you can do is, you can click here and say for example ‘EURUSD’ then press return and that will add it for you.

Or if you want to see all the instruments simply right click and go to ‘Show All.’  This will give you all the available instruments that Daman Markets offers and you’re able to access them through there.

The second pane I would like to bring to your attention is the navigator pane and here is where you would have your different Daman Markets accounts so if you’ve got a couple of accounts linked to a platform you’ll be able to switch between them through here, as well as all the available indicators simply just collapse it and all the options are available for you there.

Any Expert Advisors that you might have installed or scripts, that will also be available for you here as well. The third area that I would like to bring to your attention is this bottom area here called the Toolbox, and here you have multiple tabs showing you multiple different things if you like.

But the most important one is the Trade tab, where it shows you the open trades that you currently have. You can even close them through here by the way as well by clicking on the x.

Your History tab, which shows you all the history of trades that you’ve undertaken. Your Expert Advisor tab, so if you have an Expert Advisor, all the details of the Expert Advisor and the settings of the Expert Advisor will be available for you here.

And lastly, your Journal. So your journal would log everything that is happening on the MT5 platform. If there are any issues, it’s a really, really good way to basically log in and see what the issue is. If you are still struggling, please do give us a call, we’ll be more than happy to help you out.

Lastly is your Charting Area. So, for your chart here, you can simply just click and drag markets, and it will simply update the chart for you here. Right now, I’ve got it set up in tabs, as you can see, all the different markets I have at the bottom here are in tabs.

However, if you click this toggle it will basically lay them out for you so you can see them all at the same time. So maybe you can have the same market with different time resolutions or different markets so you can see exactly what’s going on elsewhere. In addition to that, you have your toolbar right at the top which you’ve seen me use by changing the time resolution.

So here, you just simply select the chart and you change the time resolution to what you want it to be. You just need to give it a second to load up. This section here is basically where you could add lines. So for example, I’m looking at support and resistance lines, I would place that here. Your time resolution, also if you have any Algo Trading, you could enable and disable that through here as well, as well as your different chart types, zoom in and out, and see multiple chart toggle.

Right at the top, you have your menu options, so for example if you added a second Daman Market account, click here, and go ‘Login to Trade Account’ and it will give you the option to log into your second account and that will be displayed here under your Navigator.

Your View is basically where you can sort of customize this bar at the top by selecting all the different options available for you here. As well as your language settings that’s available for you here.

So for example if you want to change it to Arabic, you can do it through here. Your Insert option is where you insert the indicators, any EAs, any Scripts, any Objects, so on and so forth but you can also do that through the Navigator pane right here.

The Chart menu is obviously your chart options, so for example if I want to add a gridline to my chart, I select it here and it pops out right in front of me, and if I don’t want that I can just disable it.

Lastly, your Tools function is quite important. It has one of the most important functions on MT5, which is the Options. Once you click here, it gives you the server details, the chart options, but the one that always catches people out tends to be the Trade. If you don’t have One Click Trading enabled, so if I disable it now and I click ‘OK’, if I go to trade on GBPUSD and I click ‘Buy’, it opens up a deal ticket.

Alternatively, what I could do is I could go to Tools, click Options, enable One Click Trading. I’ll get a disclaimer that I would need to agree to, basically stating that I only click once to open a position in the markets, so be careful with that. Once I agree to that, as you can see once I click Buy, it just opens that up straight away and my trade is right here as well.

Lastly, your Windows is basically if you want to switch between charts is here, or you can change the layout of the platform for you here. So for example, if I click Tile Horizontally it will show you that, as well as your Help function, which takes you to any queries that’s available on the MQL website.
