In this tutorial, we’ll be looking at how to use the Acuity Economic Calendar.
The Economic Calendar is a great tool that gives you real-time updates on key economic events. The information is presented in a simple and easy to understand way and can make all the difference in executing timely, well-informed trades.
When you open the calendar, you’ll notice that the information is displayed a little differently to conventional calendars. However, this display can help you get the information you need much faster.
You can filter the calendar by date, country and impact. This just means how volatile the event is expected to be for markets. It could either be low impact, medium impact or high impact. You just need to click once on the impact level you want to include to either add it or remove it.
Each box tells you how many low, medium or high impact events are expected for each day. For example, on Friday, there are 18 Low Impact events, 12 Medium Impact events and 7 High Impact events. If you click on any of these boxes, for example the red high impact event. It will display the 7 high impact events expected that day.
There, you will be able to see what the event is, where the data is coming from, the date and time, the forecast figure and the previous figure. If the forecast or previous is missing, this data may not be available yet.
If you scroll down, you will see a comprehensive definition of each event and which assets it usually affects. Additionally, you can see the historical data of the event and how different instruments reacted previously.
